Death Benefit Insurance
Members who join this Credit Union before their 70th birthday automatically have death benefit insurance of €3,250.
Insurance on Loans
Your Credit Union offers free life insurance on loans. Members over certain ages who require larger loans may have to complete a ‘Declaration of Health’ form, which must be approved by the Irish League of Credit Unions before the loan can be processed.
Insurance on Savings
Savings insurance up to €12,700 is provided at no extra cost. Insurance cover is provided if at the time of saving, a member is under 70 years and actively working or if not working, in good health.
In the event of your death, it depends on how much is in your account (s) at that time. The amount of the total that may be made by the Insurance Company is made up by a payment of one euro for each euro saved under the age of 55 years. This payment reduces to 75 cent for savings between 55 & 60, 50 cent between ages 60 & 65 and 25 cent between ages 65 & 70.
Budget Scheme
Members may apply to have their bills paid via the Budget Scheme. This saves the inconvenience and expense of setting up bank accounts, standing orders, direct debits, etc.
